As Ferris Bueller said…
Dear Fuller,
When people ask me how old you are, I get to tell them you are 4 weeks old. That means that 5 weeks ago you were still inside of me, kicking and squirming. Now you are out here in the big, wonderful world kicking and squirming. Isn’t it amazing how quickly your life can change?
Just in case you are wondering, this is the obligatory one month letter to my newborn son. As Ferris Bueller said, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” So, let’s look around.

When you were born you cried and slept. Maybe you ate a little bit. Now, 4 weeks (and 2 days) later, you laughed for the first time. It was a hearty, big smile type laugh. Yesterday, you didn’t know how to do that.
You eat a lot, which is good because it helps you grow. And grow you do. Even your Cool Aunt Stina noticed that you are looking different from when she saw you 2 weeks ago. Your cheeks are fuller (no pun intended), you have grown at least one inch, and you have had to have surpassed your birth weight. Your little bitty clothes fit you better now.
You can kind of hold up your head, which is cool because it shows just how strong you are getting. When your Daddy plays with you, you put your feet out and kick or stand a little bit when he hols you just so.
All of these changes are amazing and it makes me look at you with love and wonder.
Yesterday was one of those times where I looked at you and wanted to cry. It was because we were somewhere that I wanted to be for a long, long time. We were at Mom’s Group. You made me a Mom! And now that I am a Mom, I get to go to Mom’s Group! It was so wonderful to be there. And I wanted to thank you now. Thank you for making me a Mom.
We still have a lot to figure out. Daddy and I are still working on the whole parenting thing. And you are still working on the whole being a human being thing. But everyday it becomes apparent to me that this is all very, very good.
Happy one month, Fuller!
Love,
Momma
