Morning Music

Published by under blogging 'bout the boy

In the mornings, Fuller plays in his exersaucer, grasping the toys on the tray and banging away. He likes to bounce up and down in the saucer, waving his arms and making gleeful, high pitched squeals. The banging of the toys is a symphony of morning happiness that I love listening to.

Hit and run

Published by under a day in the life

On the highway of life, there is a truck going south on I75, toward Florida. The driver is yelling to himself ?5 points!? because he successfully ran me over and left me facedown in the middle of the road.

I have felt this way since last Tuesday and I am sick of being sick. First it was a sinus infection and now it is just allergies. The lack of oxygen has sapped my energy and replaced it with the need to blow my nose every 5 minutes.

I know that we had a weekend just recently, but I am already ready for the next one. I need more rest, something that I just can?t get right now. And to top it off, I start the WellFit program at the SportsBarn today.

Let?s just get through today, maybe then I will have something more interesting to say.

The 8 Stages of a Mother’s Wrath

Published by under momma monologues

1. Oblivious
You are in the baby section of Wal-Mart, minding your own business with your baby strapped into his Baby Bjorn, checking out the cute socks. You make idle chit-chat with another mom. All is well.

2. The trigger
A bunch of kids are one aisle over, teenagers about 16 or 17. No parents in sight, but at that age, that is to be expected. Suddenly you hear that their horsing around has reached an unacceptable level- something has been thrown, over the shelving, hitting the top of the shelves. You brace for impact, expecting the object to land somewhere near you and not wanting it to land on your precious cargo. The object is a football and when it lands, you were right to brace yourself because it lands on your very own head. It hurts.

How to cook a turkey on an open fire

I have removed the Camping with Baby poll and the results were as follows:

Would you take a 14 month old camping?
Of course!
34 (80%)
What, are you nuts?
8 (19%)
Total votes: 42

(I have to tell you that most of the ?No? votes were from my mother-in-law.)

It looks like we are heading to the camping grounds for Thanksgiving. Once my mother told me that they took me camping when I was younger than Fuller will be, I knew all arguments I had against it were out the window.

We really appreciated your comments on the subject? it was helpful for people to remind me that Fuller would probably be walking by then and for my little sister to remind me that there would be at least seven adults to watch out for the little man too. So, it looks like our Thanksgiving Turkey will be carved by the open fire this year. Woo-hoo!

Now, I just need to start recalling some of the lyrics of my favorite camp songs?.

Defeat, Dr. Pepper, Free Shuttle, and the Ambassador Force

Well, reality has caught up with Auburn. The 2004-2005 Men?s basketball season has ended with a less than memorable loss to LSU in the second round of the tournament.
