In my mind, a three-day weekend usually means one of two things. Option one is three days to do absolutely nothing except feed myself, care for my son, and lounge about in a manner befitting a sloth. Option two is to plan out a project of some sort to either start, get a lot of headway on, or finally finish.
This past three-day weekend, we were opting for option two. (Last Memorial Day weekend we started the nursery room project.)
The dining room project has dragged on long enough, but between working for actual paychecks, making sure our son is properly cared for and entertained, and the stuff of life, we have not been able to make that final push to get the built-in shelving done. We figured we should forgo visiting the in-laws at The Lake (the sloth-like option) and use the three days to assemble wood that will some day house our many books that are currently suffering silently in the attic.
Unfortunately, as the saying goes, the best laid plans? well, I don?t know the rest of the saying, but the end of the saying is something about the plans going down the crapper. Which ours did.

I have a “real” entry in the works, explaining how this weekend just went downhill, but until then, you must check out the song found in the title of Greg’s Funky Presbyterian’s blog. (Right click, save as… all that jazz.)
I hope that LynnP weighs in on the topic.
Speaking of… someone has a dirty diaper. Gotta go change it!

We took Fuller to the Circus last night.

Now I know what you are thinking. You are thinking, ?Why take him somewhere so big when he isn?t going to remember the experience??
Well, I have news for you. He isn?t the one that wanted to go. I was. Well, D and I both wanted to go. And our friends, Esther & Greg.
And you know what? It doesn?t matter that Fuller won?t remember the experience. The way I see it, D and I got something for our parenting stack of cards. When a time comes that Fuller wants to go to the circus and something happens where we can?t take him, we can always reach into our cards and pull out the ?We already took you to the circus once- when you were seven months old. Too bad you don?t remember. That isn?t our fault!? card.
Hee. Fuller is going to love living in our house. I hope he learns to roll his eyes soon.

Taking Fuller to meet Spider-Man was a fun experience, but not one that he will remember. After the obligatory picture was taken, we walked around Lake Winnie and Damon told me the story about when he first met Spider-Man. It made me smile to think that someday, Fuller would have a similar story to tell.
Now, I am not going to tell you that story because it is D’s to tell. But, Matt Baldwin has told his story of meeting Darth Vader, and it could put a smile on your face. Or at least make you think Darth Vader is a real jerk.

My Dad (his name?s Albert) had a birthday yesterday. To celebrate this, we put together this video (the third one down) featuring the comedic stylings of Fuller Crumley.
I only created an AVI version before deleting the project files, so Mac users will have to imagine the cutest baby video they?ve ever seen and multiply that ten-fold. That imaginary video is still only half as good as this video.
