What Iraq and New Orleans have in common
I have family members leaving both places.
My dad will be leaving Iraq soon and should be home with my mom by September 9th.
My sister-in-law and her family (including her inlaws) have left their home in Madisonville, LA to flee Katrina. They will have a hurricane party at Lake Martin, AL, at Damon’s parents house.
Thinking about both places and knowing that there is imminent danger can be kind of overwhelming. Knowing that the family that I love is safe now, or will be soon gives me calm.
I can only thank God for taking care of my family.

Hope everyone has made it through without incident. My in-laws probably won’t make it back to their home until tomorrow afternoon due to the curfews that have been imposed. They are safe but are concerned about the damage.

Pensacola fl
(Brooke, I sent you an email.) We don’t have expanded cable at our house, so we don’t have the benefit of constant talking heads telling us what has happened. I am also very ignorant about the area that my SIL is from, so when I read things on the internet about the NOLA area, I have no idea if that is any where near Madisonville. I spoke to my FIL today, but they don’t have any information yet on the condition of their home (or Bobby’s buisness). My neice and nephew will probably stay in AL until power returns to LA. I’m going to call them again tomorrow to ask Vicki some specific questions so I understand what I am reading on the internet.
