Damon is the type of person who is visual. When you go out to eat, usually he will choose the item from the menu that has a picture next to it. When he looks at a cookbook, hunting for a new recipe to try, he likes the cookbooks with pictures that show him what the end result should look like. In Damon’s mind what looks good probably will taste good.
So, that is why I am now bookmarking Recipes to Share. Maybe you will too!
I once knew a guy named Porco, no kidding. He had a little scar on his lip. He hardly ate and when he did it was usually the same sort of stuff. He never went out to eat. I asked him why that was. He told me about the time I first got into the baking chocolate as a little boy (as if we all did that). Porco didn’t. The scar was from the Crystal Drano he got into. The guy had no taste buds, nothing. I didn’t know Porco long or well. But he never leaves me. When I eat at Fogo de Ciao or Bones or the Hereford House… whenever I see a visual feast, I think about that. I too am visual and cannot imagine being able to see it and not know what it tastes like.
