Move over Dr. Spock…

Published by under momma monologues

Fuller has a mysterious rash with bumps all over his body that has his parents befuddled.

This was our conversation earlier:

Damon: It looks like an allergic reaction.

Me: Or it could be chicken pox.

Damon: I guess.

Me: He hasn’t had the chicken pox vaccination yet, he doesn’t get that until his next checkup.

Damon: But we want him to get the chicken pox…

Me: But there is a vaccination now…

Damon: But I saw on The Simpsons (referencing the Pox Party episode)…

Me: (chuckling) I know, I saw that too, but…

Damon: I get all my medical information from the Simpsons.

Fuller will be going to the doctor later today.

Our circle is complete

I am finally sitting on my couch, baby in his own bed, and dogs lounging at my feet. There really is no place like home.

Saturday, after the game, D and I left our parking space and were quickly informed by a kind Auburn fan that we had a flat tire on the rear passenger side. We were able to drive 50 feet to a parking lot and change to the spare tire. Since Damon is always prepared, we had an air compressor in the trunk that we used to inflate the tire while we drove. At the Lake Martin Mini Mall (somewhere on Podunk County Road, AL) we switched back to the regular tire.

Since it is a slow leak we just made sure it had enough air and stopped a few times to check it on the way home.

Also, Damon was determined to go another route from Auburn to Lake Martin that did not involve 280. We did find it via little county roads with numbers like 82, 72, 50 and one jaunt that was Girls Ranch Road. It was quicker than the construction lanes of 280 and a tad prettier as well. Just don’t ask me my right from my left. That’s all I have to say about that.

We are home, that’s what matters. And that we are home in time to watch the premier of Desperate Housewives is really important.

L to the U to the K to the E!

Published by under i love st. elmo!

We are on the road, heading north (with the rain), back to Chattanooga.

When I turned my Treo back on in B’ham I was greeted with a voicemail from my dear friend, Esther that there is a new Wilhelm in town- Luke Gregory.

I spoke with the happy daddy and even though Luke arrived a little less than a month early, he is healthy and happy. 4 lbs, 15 oz.

I can’t wait to meet him!

Western Kentucky vs Auburn

Published by under war eagle anyway

We just started the second quarter and Damon is making a fool of himself by shouting at Jason Campbell “Hey Jason! You,re on my fantasy team!” and rounding it off with a “Here we go insurance adjusters, here we go!”

At least today he is just Damon and not Elvis. This game is not televised and since the AU band isn’t dressed in their finest, so why should Damon?

And we have better seats- on the south endzone. We have a great view of all the tv cameras and a great chance of catching a field goal or extra point gone horribly wrong.

Today is hot, but at least we have some wind. There are gatorade cups that keep escaping from the sidelines and heading for the fifty yard line.

Fuller was collected by Poppa Albert & Grandma Linda to spend the rest of the weekend at Lake Martin.

He had a great time hanging out with Grandma Great and playing in her sunroom. GG has tiny pots and pans that Fuller loves to bang together.

Well WKU has the ball, 2nd down 4 to go. Better pat attention- Defense is half the team.

$135 richer

In IKEA purchases that is. And we needed every single thing.

Do you know how nice and pretty my CDs are going to look in their new CD boxes? And the stationary will finally have a new home; they will no longer have to live in that tired old woden crate I salvaged from a Madrigals dinner prep years ago.

I got the cutest lamp for $4, for my bedside.

And then there were some other things that wound up in our yellow bag and we just can’t wait to intoduce them to our home!

Except there is that pesky football game we have tickets for.

And now, on to Auburn. (And Mike? Auburn is a very big deal. It’s where my grandmother lives.)
