We often got a chuckle out of Jimmy Fallon and his holiday parodies of certain pop songs. And now, we offer this chuckle to you!
Happy Halloween!

This is the first year that we are going to stay at home, throw open our doors (and gate) and pass out candy to the little (and not so little) trick-or-treaters. I’m kind of excited about it, which also makes me feel kind of silly. We have been in this house for six years and this is the first time we are going to pass out candy.
I remember trick-or-treating as a kid, getting as much candy as my little pillowcase would hold, wearing a costume that was fashioned out of only things we could find around our house (including all my mother’s makeup). My most memorable costume was the gypsy costume where I wore two of my mother’s skirts and knoted the top one so you could see the other one beneath, and loading on all her long, long necklaces and big, bulky bracelets so I was all glittery. I think that is the same year I almost took out S-G’s eye with the eye liner. I forget what she was suppossed to be, but as oldest sister I was head makeup artist… fear my eyeliner!
Anyway, we already dressed Fuller up for this year, so now we can just work on making plans for next year. I’m thinking circus clown… I’m sure Damon has something better in mind.

We remembered to change our clocks last night, but someone forgot to tell Fuller. He woke up at 5:30 this morning and screwed up our morning routine. Silly kid.
But, I feel triumphant because I was able to keep him up until 7:30 this evening, which is his normal bedtime, but it felt an hour later to him.
Man I hope this works. If he sleeps until 6 tomorrow morning, I predict a happy halloween.
How do you tell your child, who cannot read the man-made clock, about the time change?

The words “fall festival” are code in churches for Halloween party. Today our church had our costume fall festival. It was held on Lookout Mountain, at the home of the Harberts’.
Fuller was dressed as a vintage Auburn Football player. I crocheted him a leather-looking helmet. It was crocheted from Lionbrand Suede yarn. The yarn was fun to work with, but a tad stretchier than anticipated.
We enjoyed spending the time with the other families and watching Fuller make his way around the yard, getting his uniform as dirty as all football players uniforms are meant to be.

I just got back from Knit Wits. It is a group of women, mainly from our church, who get together twice a month and knit; or in mine and Amber’s case, crochet.
About half an hour before I was to leave for Knit Wits, I was getting my stuff together. I had my yarn, my hooks, but I could not find my patterns. I looked for 20 minutes and could not find them anywhere. I have a few projects underway and no roadmap on how to finish them!
I quickly printed off a pattern that I knew how to find quickly on the internet, but it is still bothering me that I can’t find them.
When I go to work tomorrow, exhausted from lack of sleep, it is because I still can’t find that stack of papers.
Augh!
P.S. I got over my stomach bug after a nap in the afternoon. I’m still a bit tired, but not weak or anything. I have been eating just fine. And Austina, thanks for the get well thoughts and e-card!

I need my Mommy. I don’t feel well and may have the stomach bug that is going around the office. Stupid office germs.
So, Fuller is napping, Damon is puttering, and Matt Lauer is keeping me company with his Gadgets for Halloween segment. I wonder if he gets manicures.
Later today our family will take Maple to the vet for her annual shots. That should be fun. For Fuller, not Maple.
Blogging isn’t that fun when you are sick, but I wanted some sympathy so I thought I would share my plight.
Stupid office germs.
