Well Child, the good, the bad, the ugly

Published by mrscrumley at 5:12 pm under blogging 'bout the boy

Today was Fuller’s 15-month well child checkup.

The Good: We got there on time.
The Bad: I had a hard time filling out the forms because Fuller wanted to play with the gate on the corral door.
The Ugly: Fuller cried and got really angry when he wasn?t allowed to play with the gate.

The Good: He is 33 inches tall.
The Bad: That’s just a smidge taller than our dinning room table.
The Ugly: Fuller has a bruise on his forehead to prove it.

The Good: Fuller is now 27 pounds.
The Bad: He would barely stand on the scale, wanting to be picked up.
The Ugly: My left hip feels those extra 27 pounds every day.

The Good: Fuller babbled nicely, proving he is developing nicely.
The Bad: Stethoscopes are scary and can make little boys cry.
The Ugly: Having three people hold you down so someone can scrape wax out of your ear is torture. (The wax build up thing he gets from both of his parents. Sorry!)
The Really Ugly: Fuller has an ear infection.
The Other Ugly: Two shots!

The Good: As soon as he was dressed he stopped crying.
The Bad: The doctor said Fuller has a big head, but to not be concerned. (So why bring it up?!?)
The Ugly: The doctor seemed really concerned that I should go out, like right now, and get cortisone cream for the rash around Fuller?s mouth (caused by the constant stream of drool flowing from his mouth).

The Good: I picked up some hydrocortisone cream (1%!) when I got the amoxicillin.
The Good: No more shots until he is four!
The Good: Fuller is awesome!

I just use a little vaseline for drool rash each night before he goes to bed. Seems pretty effective.

    Yay for growing boys!
