A Sunday Afternoon
And now, in the continuing adventures of The Crumley Sick House? A fun Sunday family outing to the ER!
Our Heroine wakes early to the sound of her alarm. Her husband is coming back to bed from the bathroom. She asks, ?Are we going to church?? Hero Husband answers, ?I don?t know.? It is obvious from the sound of his voice that he has much stuffiness filling his head. Hero Husband continues, ?If my ear keeps hurting then we may need to go to the ER, in case I have an infection.?
Our Heroine leaves the bed because even though she knows that they won?t go to church, so can no longer sleep. Despite the fact that her throat hurts to the point where she doesn?t think she can swallow thing, she goes to the kitchen. The pain behind her eyes throbs a million throbs driving her to the newly organized medicine drawer to find comfort in two tiny Tylenol Cold pills.
Baby Hero wakes and she removes him from his sleep chamber, so that he can eat, play, and take some of his own medicine. As the Tylenol Cold pills begin to work, her throat pain decreases and she is able to swallow some morning tea.
Around 8:30 Baby Hero shows signs of exhaustion, so he is allowed a morning nap. Our Heroine then returns to her own bed for a few more hours of sleep.
When Baby Hero wakes from his nap, he plays while Our Heroine begins the task of making a midday meal. Eventually the meal is ready and Baby Hero enjoys his Pizza Meatloaf very much. Hero Husband wakes from his slumber and comes to the table. He also enjoys his Pizza Meatloaf but indicates that he still feels ill enough that a trip to the ER for an antibiotic prescription should be next on their agenda.
After some discussion, it was decided that our Hero Family would make their way to the Memorial ER. When they sign in, the Merry Registration Maids comment on the cuteness of Baby Hero and how awesome his hair is. Our Heroine decides to stroll Baby Hero to the children?s area, where there are no sick adults cluttering the air space.
Once there Baby Hero and Hero Husband spend time practicing the fine art of coloring. Since it is Baby Hero?s first time holding a crayon, he thinks it is something that should be in his mouth. Hero Husband shows Baby Hero that when the crayon is applied to paper, a color is left on the page. Baby Hero stabs at the paper with his crayon and delights with the results.
Within 20 minutes Hero Husband?s name is called and he disappears into Triage Room 2. Our Heroine determines that her head is still cloudy with stuffiness but she knows that it is now her responsibility to continue the quest to Keep Baby Hero Happy in the ER Waiting Room. She shows him the book she brought- bright and colorful with Spider-Man and his friends. She gives him graham crackers and juice- which he gobbles up with glee.
Soon, almost 15 minutes later, Hero Husband returns from behind the double doors and declares that he has been discharged with a diagnosis of Ear Infection and Bronchitis. With antibiotic prescription in hand, Our Hero Family makes their way to CVS to have the prescription filled.
Our Hero Family finally returns home to relax and take afternoon naps. Our Heroine takes another dose of Tylenol Cold to relieve the building pressure in her head and declares that she thinks she is getting better.
Tune in next time when we will hear Our Heroine say, ?Fuller, when did you learn to put your finger in your nose??

Bummer! I had to stay home from church yesterday too. But no ER visit. I felt so crummy that I didn’t even feel like watching TV. Alicia remember when we got Bronchitis at the same time?
I hope you guys feel better, I still have to go to school.
Now that sounds fun. The only thing that could top that was if you had a speeding ticket on the way home or something!
Hope everyone is feeling better now!
