Both of our kids are rotators, so there was no question about it. Also, Isabel still refuses to get under the covers (so she's not limited by the sheets). She sleeps with a small blanket instead. If the toddler bed is low, then it might not be a bad thing to go rail-less...as maybe he'll learn quicker how to sleep in an open bed? So, on Tuesday Aunt Stina will be bringing a German kid's bed from my parents, and it is a toddler size bed (takes a crib mattress), which will save us space. The ikea bed is so low to the ground, that I don't think he will hurt himself if he fell. I'm not sure about the hieght of the German bed.
