Wellness is not just a buzz word

There is a buzz word in the benefit industry that the company I work for is heavily grasping on to- wellness.

Not only do they care about making sure that we are covered when we are sick, but they are trying to give us opportunities to stay healthy. They give us discounts on gym memberships, sponsor programs promoting active lifestyles, give extra help to those needing help ceasing smoking, and a wellness program that gives us a personal coach to help with nutrition, weight loss, depression, migraines, and stress. One of the neat aspects of most of these programs is they have really helpful tools on the internet to help me track progress or get tips.

I?ve been participating in a weight loss program for over a year, but keep giving in to various stumbling blocks. There is another website that also provides tools to help promote a healthy lifestyle but has the added feature of offering Free Product Samples. Anything from heartburn medications to vitamins? stuff to help keep us healthy.

The neat thing about the site is that once you sign up you have access to their articles, forums, and support groups. Since I was just recently diagnosised with GERD, I have found some good resources to help me manage it and not feel like I am going to throw up every day, all day.

The site is useful and I like the added benefit of the free samples or coupons. The tools and references are something I know I would use on a regular basis, epsecially since I think that wellness is something should be more than a benefit a company offers, but a major part of my life.

I might be turning 30 in a few days, but I do want to reach 40, 50, 60, 70, and even 80.
