Fuller loves HP

Yesterday I missed out on a PPP opp because I was at work. I found out about it on the forums, and went to check out the site anyway.

I had so much fun creating this and even though it has some bugs (Fuller can’t speak French), I still like it. Also, it takes a little while to load. Just be patient.

Wellness is not just a buzz word

Published by under a day in the life

There is a buzz word in the benefit industry that the company I work for is heavily grasping on to- wellness.

Not only do they care about making sure that we are covered when we are sick, but they are trying to give us opportunities to stay healthy. They give us discounts on gym memberships, sponsor programs promoting active lifestyles, give extra help to those needing help ceasing smoking, and a wellness program that gives us a personal coach to help with nutrition, weight loss, depression, migraines, and stress. One of the neat aspects of most of these programs is they have really helpful tools on the internet to help me track progress or get tips.

There’s probably a reason they didn’t have this when I was a kid.

Marvel Comics and Guiding Light (yes, the soap opera) are teaming up to introduce a new hero on the show that will then be a Marvel superhero. “What a cool idea”, I thought. Man, if they had done this when I was a kid, I would have definitely started watching GL, just to see if they occasionally threw in a superhero reference from time-to-time.

Well, it seemed like a good idea until I watch the trailer for the episode.

I bet Marvel thought this idea would somehow lend more “ligitamacy” to their comics with the adult (probably mostly female) demographic. But, after seeing the level of acting in the trailer, I think Marvel should stick with the younger male audience ’cause they obviously have higher standards of storytelling.

Who would have though that when compared to a comic book, a show aimed at entertaining adults would actually seem more juvenile?

(That said, I’m still gonna watch it.)

Come As You Are Blog Party

come_as_you_are.jpg
I’m actually a little late to this party, but here I am! Julie tagged me and I thought it seemed like a fun meme.

This is actually the third picture I took of myself. The first one my hair was pulled back and the second one was too blurry. I think I am too red in this one, but I want to go to bed soon. The desk is covered in clutter, something that we did not clear away before the CSTV people showed up last week. The monitor is one of two flat screens (we are a dual monitor family) and what you can’t see is the mug of Chai sitting in front of the keyboard.

So, the following bloggers I would love to see as they are RIGHT NOW are:

Scott (with Ethan, maybe?)
Diber (when she isn’t working on her thesis)
Stephanie (if she will post in what’s left of October… November is almost here!)
Austina (because she needs to do more than work and sleep)
Heather (I tried to leave a comment and it acted all wonky. I wanted to share that Fuller headbutted me in the nose instead of kissing me tonight.)

Down with down

Published by under a day in the life

As I mentioned before, the Chattanooga weather has been a tad on the chilly side. To conserve energy we tend to keep our house on the cooler side, keeping our bodies covered in layers and using extra blankets at night. Last year we invested in a heated mattress pad and it is the most wonderful things on the really chilly nights.

We also have an Ikea duvet, purchased the Thanksgiving we went to Ohio to visit Austina. I think we will eventually upgrade to something of the down variety. Of course, there are some considerations on how to buy down bedding, but just like any other major purchase we plan to do our homework first.

Like how do you wash down? (Answer: Dawn liquid detergent soap.)

I just hope I don’t end up allergic to it. I like to be warm in the winter.

How to make Damon smile

Today I went to TheOfficeDVD.com and sent Damon two messages from Dwight. He saved one of the messages for me to hear when I got home and it was pretty funny. You can send up to five messages to one phone number. I think I need to send them to myself at work so I can hear them all.

And that reminds me, I need to show him Nobody’s Watching TV when he gets home. The welcome video cracked me up.
