Tea with a twist

Published by mrscrumley at 10:15 am under conversations & observations

Well, Mother’s Day is around the corner. I already have my coffee maker and my MIL already has her wireless router, so now I have to think of what to get my own mom.

When I was visiting her last week I was reminded of the times she would be ready at home, after school, with tea and cookies. I seems kind of quaint, but it was special. My mom also has a collection of teapots that she has nicely displayed in her kitchen.

So it seems natural that I think about something tea related as a gift for my mom. And that is where this great tea set comes in.

Full Bloom Tea is a really unique way to brew tea. The tea leaves start out hand tied in China into a specific shape, based on the type of tea bloom it will become. When you steep the bloom in hot water, the shape unfolds and expands into an amazing bouquet that looks like a flower.

Get it? Ok take a look at this:

What we have here is tea twisted to look like a teapot. Clever, yeah? And once it was steeped in hot water, it bloomed to this beautiful flower. And there are more… each bloom contains teas like Silver Needle White Tea, Jasmine, Globe Amaranth and Marigold. There are different shapes for different occasions.

Full Bloom Tea has Mother’s Day Tea Sets that start at $29. They even have bloom of the month sets that allow the recipient a special bloom each month.

This tea with a twist is a great idea for Mothers or anyone who likes tea. Maybe someday Fuller will get me my own set.

i just watched Marie Antoinette with Kirsten Dunst and there was a part in the film where they had that tea. In the film it was a gift to Marie from the Emperor of China.

I had a friend that had these and brought one to our Bible Study so we could see if “bloom” right in front of our eyes. Very fun and really good tea too. Another good tea website if you like loose leaf tea is http://www.portsmouthtea.com.

I get all my tea from here. It rocks. I love the brewer also.
