My Family Dinners
Friday night I went to My Family Dinners to fix twelve freezer meals. I had a really great time and did the official write up over at Chattanooga Is Home.
It is true that we loved the panini (that is a word that always looks wrong to me) when we ate half tonight. Most of the meals are for 4 to 6 people, so we hope they last us a bit longer.
When I was trying to describe the process to Damon, I gave him my printed out menu to see what I had brought home. He exclaimed, “Wow! This is like going to a restaurant!” I had him pick out what we will eat tomorrow (King Ranch Chicken) so that it can thaw and be cooked while I go to a baby shower after church.
I have tried the once a month cooking and it actually took me two days and was not a lot of fun. At My Family Dinners I was able to just walk in, scoop up the prepped ingredients, and move on. I did get to use a fancy food processor, so that was cool.
The evening wasn’t without its mistakes. I did misread instructions, not read instructions, and not pay attention a few times. Bevelle, the owner, was so sweet when she came over to notify me on one unfixable mistake. I think it will still be edible, but just because I have these meals doesn’t mean I got rid of our frozen pizza too!
I took pictures (I asked Bevelle first, throwing in a little blog advertising for Chattanooga Is Home) so check them out. And we might have you over for dinner sometime.

There is a place right around the corner from our apartment like this. I have wanted to try it especially with the baby coming but the price has deterred me. I can’t figure out if the price is better than grocery shopping or not.
