Highlight Number 3: Decatur Easter Egg Hunt
Last year, when we were getting ready for the SEC Tournament, I signed up with Go City Kids to get more info on stuff going on in Atlanta. They don’t have information on Chattanooga, but for some reason I never bothered to unsubscribe. And I am so glad I didn’t.
On Thursday I got my weekly newsletter on kid’s stuff in Atlanta. Since I was in Atlanta, I scanned the list instead of deleting it immediately. And one item jumped out at me: Decatur Easter Egg Hunt on March 15. I clicked the link to get more information. It was Saturday morning, on the Decatur Square. After looking around I realized the Decatur Square was what we walked through to get to the MARTA station every day.
Since we already had plans to meet with my cousin and sisters on Saturday morning, I thought this would be a fun thing to let Fuller and J do together. Friday night’s weather made it a bit iffy on the actual happening of this Easter Egg Hunt, but we were only a block from the square so we checked it out.
When we arrived (Fuller, Aunt Stina, Sarah-Ginny, Genevieve, Lissa, and J) we were excited to see a bunch of kids scrambling around gathering as much candy as their little hands could carry. Apparently the planners of this little Easter Egg Hunt didn’t think eggs were that important and just threw candy around on the ground. There were different sections for different age groups, but it didn’t really matter, there was plenty to go around for all the kids. (I did see some plastic eggs that kids turned in for a bigger prize, but I didn’t point that out to Fuller and J. We were too late for the prize eggs.)
J and Fuller had a ton of fun, met the person in the bunny suit, and just got to run around outside for a while. And even though it was grey all morning, and the ground was muddy, it was a great way to spend the morning with our family.
