Reason to live
When Fuller goes to bed at night, he likes to ask the question, “What do tomorrow?” I have translated this question to mean, “What are we doing tomorrow?” He asks it in such an urgent way, like I must give him a reason to live tomorrow. (This is as cute as his morning announcement “I wake up!” as if he didn’t expect to.)
Usually I give him a rundown of what we are going to do (church, Mom’s group, shopping, or playing) and he is pacified enough to the repeat whatever I told him and ask more questions.
Tonight I gave him two reasons to live tomorrow: making cookies and dying Easter eggs. He immediately asked if we would be using “shock-O-lat ships” and I told him probably (I’m thinking M&Ms, actually). This was enough to get him into bed with a smile on his face.
