Wii are family

Published by at 9:41 pm under a day in the life

Wii like fun

As has been mentioned, we were the recipients of a Wii for Christmas. McMom and McDad should be happy to know we have used it every day since Christmas.

I was happy to see Fuller pick up on how to play the games, and he is always excited to get to play… anything. Damon introduced Fuller to Wii Sports and while he might not have perfect form, he somehow gets it done and does pretty well. He started playing Tennis the other day and to me it looked like Fuller was imitating a helicopter.

Ever since the Wii came out, there have been reports of damage to televisions and other household objects. There are sites devoted to damage to people, places, and things. There are warnings on the Wii disks, reminding people to wear the remote wrist straps and to stay clear of furniture and people.

Today, Fuller almost whacked my face (totally my fault for not moving out of the way fast enough after starting the game for him) and as he plays any game he gets closer and closer to the television. Today Damon got smart and put painter’s tape on the floor to help give Fuller a visual barrier to protect the television, our furniture, and whatever else his little helicopter arms could hit.

Laster, I was the one holding the remote and attempting to hit a digital tennis ball into an orange net. As I pulled back, I whacked some papers on the coffee table, sending them flying.

I guess I need to make sure I move the coffee table over even more when it’s my turn at the Wii.

That is funny. Last night we had some friends over and a tall friend was celebrating his victory on the Wii fit board and hit his hands and the remote (both are totally fine) in the ceiling fan. Maybe we should put painters tape on the ceiling to warn people of its presence. We moved the board away from being under the fan after that.

When we first got our Wii, I was playing darts and totally let the remote fly. Good thing I followed the directions and had the wrist strap tightened! I felt like an idiot, but I can now see how it happens!

I broke the brand new TV the first time I played tennis—and the only time I didn’t wear the wrist strap. (With the raquet attachment, I didn’t notice). You can read my said tale here:
