Question of the day: How’s Fuller?

Fuller fun

As the days go by and more people inquire about our lives with the new kid, we often hear the question, “How is Fuller doing?”

My standard answer is he is doing well, though sometimes he seems a bit lost. I’ve been trying to compensate and give him the attention he needs, but it isn’t always possible especially when I’m feeding Tebow or trying to get Tebow to go to sleep. Fuller gets a bit more frustrated when his needs aren’t immediately met and sometimes he gets mad/ sad/ pouty when needs aren’t met that he has been taking care of himself for quite some time.

He does have his happy moments though. He was sitting in front of Tebow’s swing this morning, making faces and talking to his brother. Tonight he tried to give Tebow his paci. Fuller will usually help me out by fetching my water bottle or one of the baby blankets, making him feel useful and involved in some way.

Tonight I suppose he really was tired of sharing me and asked to cuddle with me and Tebow after the bedtime story was read. Once Tebow was asleep, I put him down so just Fuller and I could cuddle for a while. Next thing I knew, Fuller was asleep in my lap.

As time goes by and we work out our routines and adjust to the ever changing needs of an infant, I’m sure Fuller will be the beaming older brother. Until then, I’ll make sure we cuddle more often.

I’m sure Grandpa Albert and Grandma Linda will be glad to give him plenty of attention next week.

it all takes time! one of my greatest joys as a mother is watching the relationship between my boys develop. of course, handling sibling battles is one of the greatest challenges. :-)

one of the most often-heard phrases in our house lately is the kids to mama: “I want to snuggle with you!” everybody wants some snuggle-time these days.

Genevieve brings Seth’s pacifier to him when he cries and she sometimes puts it in his mouth for him (sometimes missing and smashing it into his face). She also helps me burp him but you have to keep an eye on her because her hand will travel up his back and then she is hitting him on the back of his head.

S-Gs last blog post..Something not about the kids.
