On Friday we piled in the car,
Excitement was high for us all.
Knowing we weren’t driving far,
Heading for an Auburn weekend in the Fall.

Our trip took us to campus
We had to pitch a tent
But no, it wasn’t for all of us
Just Damon and Fuller for a short camping stint.

We took in the raptors
They started our night
To see the birds Auburn cares for
It was a show of delight

Dinner and a pep rally
Were a part of our plan
Then to our tent near an alley
To pop corn in a jiffy pop pan

Saturday was brisk and chilly
We drove for some gloves
We saw a museum, which may have been silly
But Auburn Elvis wanted to see the king everyone loves

Free food and fun at Kinnucan’s
Then back to the school
Where we walked to see fans
Meeting some who thought we were cool

Packed up our campsite
We planned for Tiger Walk
Instead we headed for a bite
Where we just sat to talk

We knew it would be cold,
We packed lots of layers,
Gloves, hats, and a blanket to hold,
So Damon and Fuller could enjoy watching football players.

Auburn may have lost the game,
And yes it made us sad,
But October 17th still has some fame
Because it was the best family weekend we have ever had!
