I get such great joy when I read to my boys. Of course, they have their favorites that we read over and over, but the cool thing about that is they start to finish the sentences as you read and they get all excited and I have found this has created such a love of reading for them. Now my 10 1/2 year old and 7 year old love reading and my 4 year old is so excited to learn to read on his own. It's one of my most favorite times of the day when we get to sit down and read a book or two together!

Reading with my two little boys is the best part of my day, every day. I love sharing with them books that were my favorites when I was little, and discovering new authors and stories with them. I remember once when my older son was about two, he made a huge stack of books and came toddling toward me looking so happy and excited about the prospect of reading, reading, reading with Mom. He put the books on the couch, climbed up next to me, settled into my lap, and we read about 20 books, until he fell asleep. So sweet. :)

We love to read! We have a great routine everynight, where each child gets to pick a book and then we read them aloud. So the kids get read multiple books each night. Plus during the day my kids will frequently bring books to me that we read. I would love to win so I can use the gift card to get my kids more books!

I love reading to my children. I began reading to them before they were born and have read to them ever since. I love trying to encourage this love of reading to your children in others. One way I do this is by giving children's books as baby shower gifts. It is fun seeing pictures of them reading these books to their new babies. :)

My daughter is almost 2 and loves Dr. Suess books. She also loves picture books where she can point to something, have me say what it is and she repeats the word. It is sooooo much fun to watch and listen to hear learn.

My son and I are reading the first Harry Potter book together. He is almost 6 and is a whiz kid. I'm amazed at the comprehension he has.

Thank you!

Each of my children have their own bookcase where they stash their favorite books. They choose what they want to read and sit by me as we read together. Often they'll have a favorite book that they'll want to read over and over and over. This week my son has only wanted to read, "I'm Mighty!" by Kate Mcmullan. We need to take it back to the library soon so we may end up buying our own copy!
